It’s almost back to school time! And this summer, North Point’s community service initiative, Intersect, is working with local organizations to help provide school supplies for underprivileged kids in our community.

image The needs are great, even in Alpharetta. Did you know that one in seven families in North Fulton County is one paycheck away from being homeless? Needless to say, buying new school supplies isn’t typically a high priority for these families. Consequently, we’re partnering with North Fulton Community Charities (NFCC) and the North Fulton Child Development Association (NFCDA) to help these children start the school year off right. You can get involved in several ways:

For parents of preschoolers: Join with Waumba Land to collect art supplies for children at NFCDA.

For parents of elementary children: Join with UpStreet to collect lunch boxes for children at NFCC.

For everyone else we have two ways to get involved:

GIVE

Online giving has closed for the Back to School Project.  Thank you to everyone who participated.

SERVE

Our volunteer spots have already filled up, but if you would still like to serve, we recommend contacting North Fulton Community Charities directly to see if they have any volunteer spots available during the next several weeks. Their website is http://www.nfcchelp.org and phone number is 770-640-0399. In addition, we recommend another organization, Children's Restoration Network in Roswell, who is also hosting Back to School service projects in early August. Click here to find more information about what they are doing and how to get involved.
