Thank you for your interest in serving with Hope ministry! Hope is a mentoring ministry pairing trained volunteer mentors with individuals who are going through a difficult season of life for support through prayer and encouragement. We believe that we are helping equip others to live a healthy and Christ-centered life and are excited about partnering with you.

The mission of Hope ministry is to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ by equipping and encouraging caregivers to come alongside those who face challenges or pain, leading the care receivers to find hope in Jesus Christ and experience His comfort and healing.

Hope mentors are trained and directly supervised by a professional counselor. The mentor staff equips each Hope mentor to provide tools and guidance to their care receiver. The Hope mentor can consult with the supervisor or coordinator any time they have a question or concern with their care receiver.

Because the role of the Hope mentor is full of opportunities for influence in the care receiver’s life, we are intentional about selecting individuals who are spiritually mature, pursuing a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, and are emotionally healthy themselves.

Therefore, in order to be a Hope mentor, you must be a member (or in the process of membership) of a North Point Ministries campus (North Point, Browns Bridge or Buckhead). Membership signifies that you have made the decision to partner with the church in its mission to lead others into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

If you have met the above requirement, then the next steps are as follows:

Application: You must complete and return an application for the Hope Ministry. Click here to download the mentor application. You will be asked to include references. Applications are due no later than 2/12/2012! Please return to the Hope Ministry by mail or return to the Hope Table outside the auditorium.

Interview: Once the application has been returned, you will be contacted for an interview with the Hope staff.

Training: We offer extensive training for Hope mentors that provide them with the skills and knowledge needed to mentor care receivers with competence and care. The Hope Focus training is specialized training for the specific skills and knowledge necessary for Hope mentors.

The next Hope Focus training will be held at Browns Bridge Community Church on Tuesday evenings beginning February 21 through May 1 from 7 pm - 9 pm AND Buckhead Church on Sunday afternoons beginning February 19 through April 29 from 4 pm - 6 pm.

Training will also include one Saturday session on February 25 from 9am - 3pm at Buckhead Church.

Additionally, ongoing training is provided to ensure that our Hope mentors are getting current and relevant information to make them the most effective they can be in helping others.

Commissioning: Once the Hope mentor has successfully completed the prior steps, you will be invited to attend a special commissioning service acknowledging your commitment and calling to this area of service.

Care Receiver: You are eligible to receive your first care receiver upon commissioning.

Continuing Education: In addition to mentoring your care receivers, all Hope mentors are required to attend on-going training (supervisions) throughout the year. These times together provide continual equipping and training as Hope mentors.

Hope Table: Another opportunity you will have as a Hope Mentor is to serve at the Hope Table. We staff the Hope table with trained mentors following each service to offer encouragement and prayer for those who want it.
